Open Team Tournament

Our eighth annual Open Bass Tournament started on Thursday night, 11/9/2017, at Lighthouse Baptist Church. Anglers, tournament staff, friends and family members gathered for a meal, door prizes, and had the opportunity to hear a message presented by professional angler Bryan Thrift. During the meeting, the Holy Spirit moved one attendee to accept Christ as their Savior and four rededications. Thanks to everyone who helped prepare the meal, the steak dinner and fixings were exceptional. Special thanks go to Julian Thigpen on his grilling expertise. We would like to thank Light House Baptist Church and Pastor Tim Bush for hosting our meeting.

Then came Saturday, which turned out to be a bit windy and cool in the morning, but ending up to be an absolutely beautiful day on Clarks Hill Lake. 52 boats blasted off at approximately 7:00 am Saturday morning after an early morning prayer in hopes of finding a big sack of fish. 38 of the 52 teams brought a five-fish limit to the scales at weigh-in.

Coming in 1st was the team of Shannon Jordan and Shawn Jordan with 5 fish weighing 16.42 lbs. The 2nd place team of Speedy Gambrell and Bart Blackburn weighed in 5 fish for 14.67 lbs. Third place honors went to Chad Hamm and Bobby Hamm with a 5 fish limit weighing 13.11 lbs. The team of Jason Hadden and Justin Hadden caught the big bass of the tournament weighing in at 5.45 lbs.

We want to thank Chick-fil-A of Augusta for providing chicken sandwiches for all the fishermen following the tournament.
